Anshumalika, daughter of former minister R. K. Roja, has received a rare honour from Indiana University Bloomington in the United States. She was presented with the prestigious ‘Herman B. Wells’ Senior Award, which is conferred once every five years in honour of the university’s former president, Herman B. Wells.
Anshumalika has become the first Indian student to receive this award. In recognition of the achievement, her name has been inscribed on a golden plaque at the university as a lifelong honour. Former minister Roja and R. K. Selvamani travelled to the United States on Saturday to attend their daughter’s award ceremony.
