The Indian government has expressed deep concern over the tense situation in West Asia. It said that it is closely monitoring the situation in the wake of the attacks on Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and other countries. It is taking appropriate measures, giving priority to the security of about 9 million Indians living in the Gulf countries. In this context, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held telephone conversations with leaders of several countries.
Modi spoke to Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Jordanian King Abdullah II and condemned the attacks. He expressed solidarity with the people of both countries and inquired about the well-being of Indians. Earlier, it was revealed that he had also held talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. India reiterated that diplomatic talks are the only solution to all disputes and that an end to hostilities should be brought to an end soon.
