The Andhra Pradesh coalition government has decided to increase market values of urban lands by up to 10 percent. These revised rates will come into effect from February 1. The decision aims to boost government revenue and reduce the gap between official and actual market values. The Revenue Department’s Special Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad issued the orders on Tuesday.
Last year, land values were revised by 5–10 percent across rural and urban areas, but this time the hike is limited to urban regions. During the previous YSRCP government, some areas saw disproportionate price increases, prompting the new government to adjust or stabilize rates in certain locations. Joint Collector-led district committees will finalize the revisions, taking into account local development, infrastructure, and road connectivity.
The revised rates will be available at Sub-Registrar offices and the Registration Department website. In the 2024–25 fiscal year, the government earned Rs. 8,843 crore from registrations and has set a target of Rs. 11,221 crore for 2025–26. The latest hike is expected to further boost state revenue.
