Hydra officials have taken key steps to stop the encroachment of government lands in Miyapur. On Monday, 5 acres of government land worth ₹600 crore in Makta Mahabubpet, Serilingampalli mandal was seized. Also, attempts to seize another 5 acres in the pond area adjacent to this land were stopped in time and the entire area was inspected. 18 shutters illegally built on the pond embankment were demolished and the private bus parking lot behind them was also vacated.
The investigation of the officials revealed surprising facts. It was found that government land was occupied by creating a fake survey number (44/4) with the help of some influential people. It was found that they were operating in the name of a car wash center and were collecting ₹9 lakh per month through 18 shutters and ₹8 lakh through bus parking. In the same area, illegal structures were removed in 2013, but it was revealed that similar structures had been built again. Those who claimed to own the land could not produce any legal documents.
In the wake of these developments, Hydra officials immediately took action and fenced off a total of 5 acres of government land and took it completely under government control. Commissioner AV Ranganath has ordered strict monitoring to ensure that illegal structures do not reappear in the area in the future. The local people are expressing satisfaction with Hydra's response, as these actions were taken based on complaints received by Prajavani.
