Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated that Hyderabad will evolve into a world-class city with the development of elevated corridors and improved infrastructure. Addressing the Legislative Council, he explained that the government is adopting a three-tier traffic management approach—CURE, PURE, and RARE—to ease congestion and ensure smooth vehicle movement. He noted that increasing incomes have led to a rise in vehicle ownership, contributing to traffic growth, which has necessitated the expansion of Metro and MMTS services.
The government plans to construct elevated corridors towards Shamirpet and Medchal while developing radial roads within the Outer Ring Road to reduce travel time. Efforts are also underway to shift polluting industries beyond the ORR and introduce multi-level parking facilities in congested areas. The Metro project will be expanded by 76 km with an allocation of ₹15,000 crore, as L&T stepped back due to central regulations. The CM emphasized the need for political unity in driving development and warned that without proactive measures, Hyderabad could face pollution levels similar to Delhi. He also highlighted plans for a 30,000-acre Future City with dedicated zones for service, industrial, and agricultural sectors.
