The ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States–Israel has reportedly impacted energy supplies globally. Due to these developments, gas supply in India has also been affected, leading to shortages in several states. Because of the shortage, many hotels and restaurants are facing difficulties in obtaining gas cylinders. Some establishments have reduced their menu items, while others have temporarily shut down operations in certain areas.
Amid these concerns, reports suggested that the situation might also affect Tirumala. In response, officials of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams took precautionary steps and wrote to the Indian Oil Corporation requesting that gas supply to Tirumala should not be disrupted. Officials stated that about 5 tons of gas are used daily in Tirumala, mainly for preparing annaprasadam and other temple-related needs. They requested uninterrupted supply considering the spiritual and service activities.
Responding positively to the request, the Indian Oil Corporation assured that 5 tons of gas will be supplied to Tirumala every day, bringing relief to temple authorities and devotees.
