MP Kiran Kumar Reddy leveled severe criticism against the Central Government regarding the implementation of women's reservations and the issue of delimitation. He clarified that neither the Congress party nor the INDIA alliance is, under any circumstances, opposed to women's reservations. He questioned why the Women's Reservation Bill—despite having been passed in 2023—has not yet been implemented. He criticized the Centre for delaying the process, noting that there is broad consensus regarding the implementation of a 33 percent reservation across the 543 Lok Sabha seats.
He suggested that the delimitation exercise should be conducted only after the 2027 census and that the views of all political parties must be taken into consideration. He asserted that any redrawing of constituencies should be carried out in a manner that preserves the balance between the states of North and South India. He alleged that, instead of adhering to previously established norms and procedures, the government is attempting to conduct delimitation solely for its own political gain. He further stated that a malicious propaganda campaign is being waged under the guise of women's reservations and appealed to the public not to fall prey to such campaigns.
