Vaibhav Suryavanshi has become a hot topic in cricket circles due to his consistent run scoring form over the past year. The 15 year old left handed batter has continued his impressive performance in IPL 2026 for Rajasthan Royals, further strengthening his reputation as a rising star. He recently grabbed attention with a blistering century off just 36 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad, showcasing his explosive batting talent.
Following his performance, Olympic medalist and Indian shooter Manu Bhaker was asked about him at an event in New Delhi. She stated that age is not a barrier when a player has the right guidance and environment, and added that talent can emerge at any age. She also remarked that Vaibhav could be India’s next big sporting star, and her comments quickly went viral on social media.
Her remarks, however, sparked debate online, with some criticizing journalists for linking athletes from different sports unnecessarily. Former Kolkata Knight Riders team director Joy Bhattacharya also questioned why an Olympic champion was asked about a cricketer, calling it unnecessary. Meanwhile, Manu Bhaker remains in the spotlight for her historic achievement of winning two medals at the Paris Olympics.
