Artemis-2 mission of NASA continues its historic journey towards the Moon with the Orion spacecraft carrying four astronauts. As part of the mission trajectory, the spacecraft will travel behind the far side of the Moon and later return towards Earth. During this critical phase, communication between the spacecraft and NASA’s Mission Control in Houston is expected to be completely cut off for nearly 40 minutes.
According to reports, this communication blackout is a planned and normal part of deep space navigation when the spacecraft passes behind the Moon. The event is likely to occur around 4 AM IST on Tuesday. NASA scientists consider this phase important for testing autonomous systems and deep space mission capabilities under real lunar conditions.
