

N. Chandrababu Naidu stated that Andhra Pradesh aims to become a model for other states in fire services and disaster management. Speaking at the parade ground in Amaravati, he flagged off newly procured fire engines and equipment. The government has taken up modernization of the fire department with a total allocation of ₹252.93 crore, out of which vehicles and equipment worth ₹33.25 crore have been introduced in the first phase.
The newly launched assets include 25 advanced fire engines, 40 quick response vehicles with high-pressure pumps, 50 inflatable rubber boats, and 30 breathing apparatus compressors. The Chief Minister appreciated officials for effectively utilizing central funds and stressed the need to prioritize saving lives during disasters. He also directed the department to equip itself with modern tools in view of rising high-rise constructions across cities. Several officials, including ministers and senior officers, attended the event.
