Andhra Pradesh has received an additional 1,90,890 doses of the HPV vaccine from the Central government, Health Minister Sathya Kumar Yadav announced. Earlier, in the first phase last month, 1,90,800 doses were supplied to protect girls aged 14–15 from cervical cancer. Officials are now taking steps to distribute the newly received doses across districts based on the population of eligible girls, with vaccination expected to continue smoothly until the coming month.
According to official data, around 3.45 lakh girls aged between 14 and 15 have been identified across the state. So far, over 1.14 lakh girls, accounting for about 33.19 percent, have received the vaccine. The highest vaccinations were recorded in Kurnool, Nellore, YSR, and Anantapur districts, while lower numbers were reported in Polavaram, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Sri Sathya Sai, and Anakapalli districts. With public exams now completed, the pace of vaccination is expected to increase further.
