Amid its shift towards artificial intelligence, Meta is reportedly preparing to lay off around 200 employees in the United States. Reports suggest that the impact will be higher in Silicon Valley locations such as Burlingame and Sunnyvale. These layoffs are likely to come into effect by the end of next month. The company, which has already reduced workforce in its Reality Labs division, is now further focusing on AI-driven growth.
Meta is also said to be restructuring its organizational setup by reducing traditional middle management roles. In place of these, the company is introducing new roles with updated responsibilities. This move is expected to streamline decision-making and improve efficiency within the organization. However, there is no official clarity yet on the exact nature of these new roles.
