A powerful snowstorm has gripped the northeastern United States, bringing intense cold winds and heavy snowfall. Authorities issued blizzard warnings as strong winds accompanied the snowfall. In some areas, snow accumulated at a rate of nearly 30 centimeters per hour.
Conditions are particularly severe in New York City. At MacArthur Airport, snow levels reached approximately 57 centimeters. Heavy snowfall has also been reported in Coney Island, New Jersey, New London, and Connecticut.
Dense fog forced the closure of several highways, and schools in parts of New York City were declared closed. The storm has significantly disrupted air travel, with over 5,000 flights cancelled across the country. Airports in New York City, New Jersey, and Boston witnessed the highest number of cancellations.
