US President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to Iran, imposing a 48-hour deadline regarding the issue of the Strait of Hormuz. He made it clear that if the strait is not reopened—or if an agreement is not reached—within this timeframe, Iran will face severe consequences. He stated that this announcement serves as a final ultimatum, given that the previously issued deadline is about to expire.
The war situation is becoming increasingly volatile. Iran has announced that it has shot down US warplanes and helicopters. While the US has launched extensive search operations for the pilot of the downed aircraft, Iran is also actively searching for his whereabouts. These incidents have further escalated tensions between the two nations.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has expressed concern over an attack on a nuclear power plant in Iran. It reported that, although the facility sustained structural damage, no hazardous radiation leaks occurred. The agency advised that necessary precautions be taken regarding nuclear safety.
Iran has declared that it remains open to negotiations, even as the conflict continues. It expressed interest in holding talks facilitated by international mediation. On the other hand, the US President stated that negotiations would not be halted, even in the midst of ongoing military incidents.
