In IPL 2026, Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered a disappointing defeat at their home ground as Lucknow Super Giants pulled off a thrilling win while chasing 157 runs. Opener Aiden Markram scored a solid 45, while skipper Rishabh Pant led from the front with an unbeaten 68 to guide his team to victory. With 9 runs needed in the final over, Pant smashed three boundaries to seal a five wicket win and register Lucknow’s second victory of the season.
Earlier, SRH struggled despite a fighting partnership between Heinrich Klaasen (62) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (55), who added 100 runs for the fifth wicket after a top order collapse. Mohammed Shami rattled the SRH batting early, reducing them to 24/4 in the powerplay. Though Klaasen and Nitish rebuilt the innings, late wickets from LSG bowlers restricted SRH to 156, which ultimately proved insufficient as Lucknow chased it down successfully.
