Mega hero Varun Tej is set to make his comeback after a two-year gap with the film ‘Korean Kanakaraju’. Directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, this Indo-Korean horror-comedy stars Ritika Nayak as the female lead, with Satya playing a key role. The film is scheduled for release on August 7. Speaking in a recent interview, Varun Tej clarified that the break was not intentional, as he wanted to return with a story that truly appealed to him. He revealed that he chose the project because of its fresh and entertaining narrative.
Talking about his role, Varun Tej said the character ‘Kanakaraju’ is completely different from his real-life personality. He described learning the Anantapur-Rayalaseema dialect and delivering long dialogues in Korean as his biggest challenge. With no prior exposure to the language, mastering pronunciation, timing, and emotions was difficult. However, he added that apart from dance, the role was more enjoyable than challenging. The film promises a blend of horror, comedy, and action, and he believes its unique concept will connect well with audiences.
