Prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for KGF Actor!

Veteran Kannada actor Anant Nag has been selected for the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2024. The Government of India announced the honour in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Indian cinema, particularly Kannada cinema, and his five-decade-plus cinematic journey. The award will be presented to him by President Droupadi Murmu at the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony in Kevadia, Gujarat, on September 22, 2026.

Anant Nag began his career in theatre before making his film debut with ‘Sankalpa’. He went on to act in more than 300 films across Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam and English cinema. He also earned recognition through television with ‘Malgudi Days’. His Telugu film appearances include ‘Premalekhalu’ and ‘Bheeshma’, while his role as Anand Ingalagi in ‘K.G.F: Chapter 1’ introduced him to a wider generation of audiences. After receiving the Padma Bhushan in 2025, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award marks another major honour in his illustrious career.
