Pony Verma said that his outspoken stance has cost him several film opportunities as well as advertising projects.

In a recent interview with a YouTube channel, Pony Verma spoke about how Prakash Raj’s political comments initially made her anxious. She recalled that the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh deeply affected him. According to her, the incident prompted him to question how long he could continue living in fear, leading him to speak out on social media. She also said that there were instances when he was dropped from films even after receiving an advance payment. Although his stance resulted in professional losses, Pony Verma said Prakash Raj chose not to do anything that went against his conscience.
