Preity Zinta Returns to Films After Eight Years

After staying away from acting for nearly eight years following her marriage, Preity Zinta is set to make a comeback with Batwar 1947. The actress, who won the hearts of Telugu audiences with films such as Rajakumarudu opposite Mahesh Babu and Premante Idera alongside Venkatesh, now returns in a powerful role opposite Sunny Deol. The film is based on the emotional and turbulent events surrounding India's Partition in 1947.

Produced under the Aamir Khan Productions banner, Batwar 1947 is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi and features music composed by Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman. Veteran actress Shabana Azmi and Ali Fazal also play significant roles in the film. With shooting and post-production completed, the makers are preparing for a grand theatrical release on August 14, coinciding with India's Independence Day celebrations.
