Actress and producer Samantha has been expanding her career beyond films by investing in various businesses. In a recent interview with an English-language publication, she revealed that she had once seriously considered quitting acting altogether. Samantha said that after taking a year-long break due to health concerns, doctors advised her to take greater care of herself and consider a profession outside acting if possible. She admitted that the advice initially made her anxious, prompting her to explore business opportunities. She said she invested in several ventures she believed in and has been enjoying her journey as an entrepreneur. Recalling her experience working on Citadel, Samantha said shooting while she was unwell was particularly difficult, and she had even sent several emails expressing her inability to continue. However, the team wanted her to complete the project, and she eventually did so. She also revealed that she initially planned to remain behind the scenes as a producer for Maa Inti Bangaram, but eventually agreed to act after encouragement from Raj.
Samantha also spoke about dealing with online trolling and how her outlook has changed over the years. She said she no longer gives unnecessary comments the same importance she once did. According to Samantha, she used to maintain a diary in which she noted the things that made her happy as well as the goals she wanted to pursue. She believes that once a person sets a goal and works towards it, other people’s opinions should not become a distraction. Samantha said that if someone has already decided to speak negatively about her, she cannot change their opinion regardless of what she does. She added that wasting time trying to convince such people is unnecessary, as there are more important things to focus on. While trolling affected her during emotionally difficult periods in the past, she said she now spends much less time thinking about it.
