National Award winner Keerthy Suresh, Sananth and Rishikanth headline the latest film ‘Dorothy’, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj. Ilaiyaraaja has composed the background score, marking his 1,540th film. Produced by Jio Studios and Sikhya Entertainment, the film is scheduled to hit theatres this month. Ahead of its release, ‘Dorothy’ has earned a rare honour by having its world premiere in the Centrepiece section of the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in Canada.
The premiere was held at the Scotiabank Theatre in the presence of Karthik Subbaraj, Keerthy Suresh, Sananth, Rishikanth and producers Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain. ‘Dorothy’ has reportedly become the first Tamil film screened at TIFF in the past decade. Speaking at the event, Karthik Subbaraj said the story had been close to his heart for a long time and explores friendship, love, caste, masculinity and compassion. He expressed pride in beginning the film’s journey on such a global platform.
