Ram Charan’s Peddi, despite emerging as a box-office success, has faced criticism from a section of the audience over certain missing emotional and character-development sequences. Many viewers felt that Jagapathi Babu’s character Appalasuri deserved a stronger and more detailed portrayal. Jagapathi Babu himself recently stated that additional bonding scenes between his character and Ram Charan would have enhanced the film’s emotional depth. Similarly, audiences pointed out that the relationship between Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s character Achiyyamma was not explored sufficiently in the theatrical version.
According to industry reports, the makers are now preparing an extended 3-hour-25-minute version of Peddi for its Netflix release. The OTT version is expected to include several deleted scenes, including emotional moments involving Appalasuri, Achiyyamma, and other supporting characters. Reports also suggest that a few sequences removed due to runtime constraints before the pre-climax may be restored. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film stars Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyenndu, with music composed by A.R. Rahman.
