Dhanush’s upcoming 56th film, tentatively referred to as D56, has reportedly run into uncertainty over remuneration negotiations. The project, which was expected to be produced by Dawn Pictures and directed by Tamilarasan Pachamuthu, is said to have hit a roadblock following a disagreement over the actor’s payment. According to reports, Dhanush initially sought a share in the film’s profits but later demanded a flat remuneration of ₹65 crore as an advance. The production house is reportedly not willing to accept the revised terms, leading to uncertainty over the project.
The situation is further complicated by the reported absence of a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the production company. Without the required clearance, Dhanush may not be able to independently take over production of the project. With the status of D56 unclear, the actor is reportedly turning his attention towards his upcoming Hindi project. However, the makers have not officially confirmed the reported remuneration dispute or the current status of the film, and further developments are awaited.
