Yadadri Thermal Power Plant Must Achieve Full-Scale Generation by Dussehra - CM Revanth Reddy

The Chief Minister directed officials to expedite measures to ensure that the Yadadri Thermal Power Station achieves full-capacity power generation by Dussehra. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka held a review meeting on the Electricity Department at MCRHRD. The CM questioned officials over why the Yadadri Thermal Power Station was not generating power at full capacity. Officials explained that the plant requires G-9 grade coal for power generation, but Singareni does not have blocks producing G-9 coal and there is no clarity on its availability in the near future. The CM and Deputy CM questioned how the plant was built using the same technology when G-9 coal was not locally available.

Officials explained that constructing the Yadadri plant away from the pithead has resulted in additional coal transportation costs, placing an extra financial burden on the state. The CM and Deputy CM directed officials to initiate steps to procure coal from Mahanadi Coalfields and Coal India, along with supplies from Singareni. Revanth Reddy also asked Bhatti Vikramarka to immediately discuss the issue with Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy. The CM directed officials to expedite all measures to ensure full-capacity power generation at the Yadadri Thermal Power Station by Dussehra.
