Vinayaka Chavithi 2026.. Here’s Why the Festival Will Be Celebrated on September 14!

Vinayaka Chavithi is traditionally celebrated on Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturthi. This year, the Chaturthi Tithi extends across September 14 and September 15, leading to confusion about the correct date. According to the traditional rules explained by scholars, the presence of Chaturthi during the afternoon is particularly important for deciding the festival date. Since Chaturthi prevails throughout the afternoon on Monday, September 14, the festival and Ganesha idol installation are recommended for that day.
