Cyclone Arnab continues to remain an extremely severe cyclonic storm over the west-central Bay of Bengal, with its effects beginning to be felt across Andhra Pradesh’s coastal districts. Srikakulam district is experiencing strong winds accompanied by heavy rainfall. The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has warned that other districts in North Andhra may also receive heavy rain in the coming hours. Officials are closely monitoring the cyclone’s movement and changing weather conditions.
In view of the developing weather situation, residents of coastal areas have been advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions. People should avoid visiting the seashore and stay away from trees, electricity poles and vulnerable structures during strong winds. Residents are also urged to follow all warnings and safety instructions issued by the authorities to minimise the risk of weather-related incidents.
