TSRTC Focuses on Electric Buses

Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is prioritizing electric buses in public transport, said Managing Director V. C. Nagireddy. He, along with Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, inaugurated a new EV bus by Keto Motors at the IAS Officers Club. He stated that TSRTC is currently operating 1,050 electric buses and is set to receive 2,200 more under the PM e-Drive scheme.

Nagireddy added that 500 electric buses are already being used for intercity operations. The corporation aims to significantly reduce diesel and petrol vehicles over the next five years. Plans are also underway to improve last-mile connectivity, ensuring better accessibility and convenience for passengers.
