A major theft has been reported at a villa in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, where nearly 1 kilogram of gold jewellery and diamond ornaments were allegedly stolen from a businessman's residence. Police suspect a Nepalese couple employed as domestic workers at the house. The couple had reportedly joined work only a month ago and had gained the family's trust. The theft came to light after the businessman's family returned from Mumbai on Sunday and discovered that valuable jewellery was missing.
Initially, the family believed the workers had left without informing them, as there were no signs of forced entry or broken locks. However, a detailed inspection revealed that a gold chain from the prayer room idol and several other ornaments had disappeared. The businessman subsequently lodged a complaint with the police. Investigators have collected crucial evidence and are examining surveillance footage, while special teams have been deployed to trace the suspects.
