Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at the Sahyadri State Guest House in Mumbai to discuss the proposed height of the Tummidihetti barrage on the Pranahita River. The barrage is part of the Pranahita–Chevella lift irrigation project. Telangana Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju and senior officials attended the meeting. During the discussions, Uttam Kumar Reddy presented details related to the proposed barrage.
The Telangana delegation is examining the likely submergence and water-transfer potential if the barrage is built at the previously agreed height of 148 metres. The state is also assessing the possible implications of constructing it at 152 metres. Revanth Reddy is expected to explain these aspects to the Maharashtra Chief Minister as both sides discuss the barrage’s height, potential impact and water-transfer capacity.
