Traffic Continues to Consume Hyderabadis’ Time

A traffic index survey has revealed that the average Hyderabad resident loses more than 200 hours every year stuck in traffic. The increasing number of vehicles, coupled with inadequate improvements in roads and traffic management, is contributing to longer travel times and growing congestion across the city.

The survey also highlights the impact of traffic and climate change on people’s health and sleep. Even after reaching home, prolonged travel and related physical discomfort, including back pain, can affect the quality of sleep. The findings underline the need for better traffic management, improved road infrastructure and measures to reduce the impact of congestion on public health.
