Tirumala Decked Up for Srivari Brahmotsavams

Tirumala is all set for the grand Salakatla Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara. The festivities will begin with Ankurarpanam on September 14, followed by the Dhwajarohanam on September 15 at 6:35 PM. The nine-day Vahana Seva celebrations will officially commence with the Pedda Sesha Vahana Seva at 9 PM. TTD has made extensive arrangements for devotees, including decorated Mada Streets, illuminated temple premises, galleries, Arati queue points, toilets and German shelters. Special attention has also been given to cleanliness and sanitation.

Meanwhile, the ceremonial procession of the sacred mat and rope used during Dhwajarohanam was held grandly in Tirumala. The mat and rope are traditionally made from sacred Vishnu Darbha grass collected from Chelluru village in Yerpedu mandal of Tirupati district. Forest Department officials performed special prayers before bringing them to Tirumala, where they were placed on the Sesha Vahana at Ranganayakula Mandapam. During Dhwajarohanam, priests will wrap the Darbha mat around the flagstaff while chanting Vedic hymns and hoist the Garuda flag, symbolically inviting the celestial deities to the Brahmotsavams. Around 6,300 personnel from the Police and Vigilance departments will be deployed for security.
