Thieves Target Wheelchair-Bound Man in Broad Daylight

A daylight robbery in a crowded area of Zirakpur, Punjab, has caused concern after two unidentified men targeted a man travelling in a wheelchair. Surendra Pal was on his way to his institute in the Palam Enclave area at around 10 a.m. on Wednesday when the two men arrived on a motorcycle, snatched his wallet and fled, according to his complaint to the police. The wallet reportedly contained around ₹5,000 in cash, a mobile phone, credit cards, a PAN card and other important belongings.

The incident was reportedly captured on nearby CCTV cameras. Police are examining the footage to identify and apprehend the suspects. The incident has raised concerns among local residents as it occurred in a busy area during the daytime. Residents have urged the police to increase patrolling in Zirakpur and nearby areas amid reports of similar snatching incidents. The victim has also appealed to the police to arrest the suspects and recover his belongings.
