The Telangana School Education Department has directed all private schools in the state to upload class-wise details of the fees being collected from students during the 2026-27 academic year on the department’s official website. School Education Director Naveen Nicholas issued the instructions on Friday. While schools were earlier asked to display their fee details on their individual websites, the department has now made a dedicated facility available on the Telangana School Education website for uploading the information. School managements have been instructed to upload the documents supporting the class-wise fee structure along with the signatures of governing body members. Regional Joint Directors and District Education Officers have been directed to issue show-cause notices to schools that fail to upload the required details.
The department’s decision comes amid concerns over the implementation of several instructions issued without specifying a final deadline. Officials had also previously asked schools to submit audited income and expenditure statements for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 academic years, but only a limited number of schools have reportedly complied so far. Similarly, the absence of clear deadlines in orders concerning the appointment of teachers, ayahs and instructors for pre-primary classes in government schools has reportedly delayed the recruitment process in some districts even two months after the academic year began. The latest directions are aimed at improving transparency in private-school fee structures and strengthening monitoring by education authorities.
