Telangana Ministers Meet Karnataka CM to Resolve Inter State Water Issues

A delegation of Telangana Ministers Vakiti Srihari and Jupally Krishna Rao, along with MLAs from the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district, met Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar in Bengaluru and sought the release of Krishna River water to the Jurala Project. The delegation explained the irrigation and drinking water requirements of the Palamuru region and the difficulties being faced by farmers amid deficient rainfall and El Niño conditions.

The Telangana delegation requested the release of water to protect standing crops and meet drinking water needs in the region. D.K. Shivakumar responded positively to the request and assured the Telangana representatives of water release from Karnataka. Following the assurance, Telangana officials also initiated the release of water from the Jurala Project for farmers.
