Chandrababu Reviews Heavy Rain Situation in AP

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the situation arising from heavy rains in several parts of the state due to the deep depression over the Bay of Bengal. He held discussions with the Chief Secretary, DGP, ministers and officials of various departments. Officials informed him that the system was likely to cross the coast near the Srikakulam region, with strong winds expected during the process. The India Meteorological Department has also forecast very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Officials warned of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in Srikakulam, Parvathipuram Manyam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalli, Polavaram and Alluri Sitharama Raju districts, with heavy rainfall possible in several other districts. The Chief Minister directed collectors and officials to remain alert, warn people in areas vulnerable to flash floods and closely monitor river flows. He also instructed authorities to take necessary measures to manage water levels in reservoirs and respond promptly to any emerging situation.
