A major fire broke out in four coaches of the Karmabhoomi Express near Sarai Banjara railway station. The flames engulfed four coaches, leaving them completely gutted. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far, bringing relief to railway officials and passengers. The incident occurred on train number 12508, which was travelling from Amritsar to New Jalpaiguri. According to railway officials, the fire was first noticed in the fifth coach from the engine as the train approached Sarai Banjara station.
The flames soon spread to three other coaches, triggering panic among passengers. The train driver acted promptly and brought the train to a halt, allowing all passengers to get off safely. Railway officials and emergency response teams rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident and began efforts to extinguish the fire. Thick smoke spread across the area as flames continued to rise from the coaches. Officials suspect that a short circuit may have caused the fire, but an investigation is underway to establish the exact reason.
