The Telangana High Court has issued a notice to the state government on a police petition seeking the cancellation of bail granted to BRS MLCs Tata Madhusudhan and N. Naveen Kumar. A case was registered against the two legislators over allegations that they made caste-related remarks against the Speaker. The police approached the High Court challenging the bail granted by a magistrate court on September 8. The matter has drawn attention as the court considers the plea seeking cancellation of the relief granted to the legislators.
Justice B.R. Madhusudhan Rao adjourned the hearing on the bail cancellation petition to November 2. Meanwhile, the hearing on a separate petition seeking the quashing of the FIR in the same matter has been postponed to November 16. The High Court is expected to consider the respective pleas in the upcoming hearings. Both the request to cancel the bail and the petition challenging the FIR remain pending before the court.
