Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C. Sudharsan Reddy addressed a press conference at B.R.K.R. Bhavan and explained the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The Election Commission of India has launched this exercise to ensure voter lists remain accurate and error-free by removing duplicate entries, deleting names of deceased voters, and including all eligible citizens. The revision process will begin on June 25, 2026, and conclude with the publication of the final electoral roll on October 1, 2026.
As part of the exercise, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct house-to-house visits and distribute pre-printed Enumeration Forms. Voters can also submit forms online through the Election Commission portal. The CEO clarified that Aadhaar submission is completely optional and not mandatory. Citizens turning 18 years of age on or before October 1, 2026, can apply for voter registration through Form-6. The Election Commission urged all voters to cooperate with officials and participate actively to ensure an accurate and transparent electoral roll.
