SIT investigation begins at Ayodhya Ram Temple

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has launched a probe into allegations of misappropriation of funds at the Ayodhya Ram Temple amid intense political accusations and counterclaims. The three-member SIT visited the temple premises on Monday as part of the inquiry into alleged irregularities in donation handling.

The Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust stated that the investigation was initiated to clarify doubts regarding the handling and accounting of donations offered by devotees. Authorities also expressed concern over attempts to damage the temple’s reputation through misinformation and social media campaigns.

The controversy began after allegations by local BJP leaders and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav regarding diversion of donations. Subsequent claims, political statements, and reports of suspicious financial activities involving temple staff further intensified the issue, prompting the Uttar Pradesh government to order a detailed SIT probe with a preliminary report expected within a week.
