The annual Simhachalam Giri Pradakshina is being held in a grand manner at the Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Visakhapatnam. Devotees started the sacred walk from the first steps of the hill early in the morning. Thousands of devotees from across Andhra Pradesh are participating in the 32-kilometre-long procession around Simhagiri hill, with officials expecting around 8 lakh devotees to attend.
Extensive arrangements have been made for the convenience and safety of devotees. Around 50 special APSRTC buses are operating, while private vehicles have been restricted from entering the hill area to manage traffic. The temple’s paid services have been cancelled for two days due to heavy crowds. Holiday has been declared for 221 educational institutions in Visakhapatnam district. Authorities have arranged security, medical facilities, and traffic management measures for the smooth conduct of the event.
