Rising Cost of Essentials in Telangana.. Prices Continue to Increase

Telangana has recorded the highest retail inflation among Indian states for the eighth consecutive month, according to data from the National Statistics Office. The state continued to report the highest inflation rate every month from January through August, indicating continued pressure on the prices of essential goods and household expenses.

In August, Telangana’s combined rural and urban retail inflation stood at 6.27%. The figure was higher than the national average of around 4%. Tamil Nadu followed with 5.92%, while Madhya Pradesh recorded 5.55%, Andhra Pradesh 5.53% and Odisha 5.52%. The data highlights the relatively higher price pressure faced by consumers in Telangana during the period.
