Prajwal Revanna Phone Case: SIT Completes Probe

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has completed its questioning of former MP Prajwal Revanna in connection with the alleged use of a mobile phone while he was serving a life sentence in prison in a rape case. According to sources, Revanna admitted during the investigation that he had spoken to his father, H.D. Revanna, and mother, Bhavani Revanna. However, he reportedly did not disclose who brought the phone into the prison and handed it to him. Sources further claimed that during questioning, Revanna objected whenever he felt the interrogation was uncomfortable, citing his former status as an MP and his relationship to former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda. He also reportedly said he would pursue legal action if he was subjected to what he considered improper questioning.

The SIT has also intensified its investigation into another accused, Prathap, in the same case. Prajwal Revanna and Prathap were produced before the 42nd ACJM Court on Thursday, which ordered that both be remanded to judicial custody for two weeks. Investigators reportedly found multiple OTT applications and pornographic content on the mobile phone seized from Revanna. Experts are being consulted to examine the device and establish details of calls allegedly made from the phone, including the people Revanna contacted. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the phone’s use and its entry into the prison is continuing.
