YSRCP president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has criticized the state's implementation of TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) rules. In a social media post, he said that making TET mandatory for teachers appointed before 2011 has created difficulties for nearly one lakh teachers. He argued that these teachers had already qualified through competitive recruitment examinations before entering service.
Jagan stated that the rule is affecting promotions, job security, and causing mental stress among teachers. He urged the state government to press the Centre to exempt teachers who joined service before 2011 from the TET requirement and called for a resolution in the Assembly to seek an amendment to the existing provisions.
