

Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju has directed officials to prepare a comprehensive action plan to control traffic congestion and prevent road accidents in Hyderabad and along the Outer Ring Road (ORR). During a review meeting at the Secretariat, officials discussed road safety, traffic signal management, identification of accident-prone areas and faster routes for emergency services. He also called for advanced signalling systems to be installed in required locations by November and December.
The Chief Secretary suggested preparing proposals to establish a dedicated system named TG-TMARS (Traffic Management and Road Safety) for traffic management and road safety. He stressed coordination among the police, transport, roads and buildings, municipal administration and urban development departments. Officials were also asked to examine an integrated traffic data platform and expand the use of AI-based technology. Pilot projects will be taken up in selected areas before gradually scaling successful solutions across the state.
