Big Shock for Praggnanandhaa in the Very First Game

Indian Grandmaster R. Praggnanandhaa suffered a setback in the opening classical game of the Grand Chess Tour Final. He lost to American Grandmaster Fabiano Caruana, who began the game with the Italian Opening. Caruana went on to defeat Praggnanandhaa in 48 moves and secured six points.

Meanwhile, the game between Wesley So and Vincent Keymer for third place ended in a draw. Caruana’s victory gives him an early advantage in the final, while Praggnanandhaa will look to bounce back in the remaining games.
