Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed relief after seven fishermen from Allavaram mandal in Konaseema district, who had gone missing while fishing at sea, were found safe near the West Bengal coast. The fishermen had left from the Odalarevu Fish Landing Centre on August 3. Their boat reportedly developed a technical problem and drifted away due to strong winds, raising concerns after it failed to return within the expected time.
The Chief Minister directed the authorities to treat the incident as a matter of high priority and closely monitored the search operation. The state administration coordinated with the Navy, Coast Guard and Central Marine departments, while authorities in West Bengal were also alerted. Following continuous search efforts and coordination, the boat and all seven fishermen were rescued near Shankarpur. Chandrababu congratulated the officials and search teams and instructed senior authorities to make all necessary arrangements to bring the fishermen safely back to their hometowns.
