Iran’s Kheibar Shekan Missile Raises Concerns for US

The United States is facing a growing challenge with the addition of Iran’s low-cost Kheibar Shekan missile, alongside Shahed drones. With a range of 1,400 kilometres, this missile has reportedly played a key role in recent attacks targeting US bases in West Asia. Its solid-fuel technology allows rapid deployment without the need for pre-fueling, making it highly mobile and difficult to track.

Compared to older Iranian missiles, the Kheibar Shekan features advanced flight paths, high speed, and maneuverability, enabling it to evade air defense systems. Some variants are equipped with small engines in the nose section to adjust direction and reach speeds up to 10,000 km per hour. Experts note that Iran is using these missiles in combination with drones, while concerns grow over declining US air defense stockpiles and the relatively low cost of these weapons.
