Tensions across the Gulf have intensified as Iran continues retaliatory attacks against military facilities used by US forces in the region. Iran’s military said it targeted American bases in Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait following the latest US strikes on Iranian territory. Tehran has maintained that any regional facility used by the US military to launch attacks against Iran would be considered a legitimate target. The latest reported strikes included facilities at Isa Air Base in Bahrain, while earlier Iranian missile and drone attacks also targeted American military infrastructure in Kuwait and Bahrain.
The conflict has widened further amid reports that Bahrain and Kuwait sent fighter jets to attack military targets inside Iran, described as their first known direct strikes against the country during the current confrontation. The reported action followed repeated Iranian missile and drone attacks against facilities on their territory that host US forces. The developments signal a potentially dangerous expansion of the conflict beyond the direct US-Iran confrontation, raising fresh concerns about regional security and stability across the Gulf.
