India’s leading IT company, Infosys, has temporarily postponed online assessments and in-person interviews for more than 20,000 candidates after detecting instances of malpractice in its recruitment process. The company found cases where individuals allegedly appeared for examinations on behalf of other candidates. The decision affects applicants for Specialist Programmer Trainee and Digital Specialist Engineer Trainee positions. Infosys stated that the move is aimed at ensuring transparency, fairness, and integrity in hiring.
To strengthen recruitment security, the company has introduced additional safeguards and revised examination protocols. Candidates have been informed through email that new test dates will be announced soon. Infosys clarified that the postponement will not impact its long-term hiring plans. The company’s digital learning platform, Infosys Springboard, currently serves around 15 million users. During FY26, Infosys received 5.8 million applications, interviewed 450,901 candidates, and issued 87,286 job offers. The company also hired more than 20,000 freshers in FY26 and plans to maintain a similar recruitment pace in FY27.
