Telangana Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has urged young filmmakers to make the most of the ‘Bathukamma Young Filmmakers Challenge–2026’, an initiative aimed at promoting the state’s iconic Bathukamma festival globally while bringing out the creative talent of the younger generation. The minister unveiled the challenge poster in Hyderabad along with MLC Shankar Naik, TDFC Managing Director G. Mukunda Reddy, State Government Creative Director Raj Konda and former Setwin chairman Giridhar Reddy.
Komatireddy said the challenge would provide a platform for young people to showcase their talent through short films, songs and videos. He said participants could creatively highlight the significance of Bathukamma, Telangana’s culture, folk arts and traditions, besides taking the government’s development and welfare initiatives to a wider audience. The minister encouraged young filmmakers, students and aspiring artists to participate in large numbers and make the challenge a success.
